South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire really serves as the main gateway to North Yorkshire and the Peak District in Derbyshire.

Sheffield is the region's best shopping centre (with a large number of pedestrianised areas) which also provides a great night life. The Moor is a large market held just to the south of the city centre with a large number of stalls selling everything from fresh fruit to computer parts.

It is home to two major football teams and also the World Snooker Championships.
