Luxor

Luxor is located in the middle of Egypt on the east bank of the Nile. It is known for some incredible historic sites but is also home to more than 1.3 million people so is a city in it's own right.

As with any large city there are the requisite taxis, tuktuks, and buses. In Luxor you can also hire horse drawn carts to take you around the city. Luxor also has a major international airport.

Within Luxor there are the magnificent Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. On the west side of the Nile River just outside the city is the Valley of the Kings, the “Valley of the Queens”, the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon with the area still actively being explored.

In the city itself there is the typical souk as well as numerous restaurants and hotels.
