Colossi of Memnon
The two statues comprising the “Colossi of Memnon” are of Pharaoh Amenhotep III which stand at the front of the ruins of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III constructed in the 14th century BC.
There are a few pieces of stones here and there but really the two statues are all that remains and they are not in great shape having been severely damaged by earthquakes.
Practicalities
The “Colossi of Memnon” are located just off a busy road between Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Access is free and there is a small car park.
