Alexandria
Alexandria is a large city on the northern coast of Egypt on the Mediterranean. It is both a modern and ancient city with a population of more than 5 million people. Perhaps not as much an attraction as other Egyptian cities to tourists there are still things to see here.
Getting Around
As might be expected in such a large city, transport is generally not a problem with numerous taxis, buses, and tuktuks available. The city also has a modern tram system.
Things to See
There are a number of things to see of interest to tourists including the Serapeum of Alexandria, Alexandria Library, Fort Qaitbey in the harbour, and the amazing Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa.
