Hythe

The small charming town of Hythe is located to the east of New Forest and across “Southampton Water” from Southampton. The tiny high street has a number of small independent shops as well as a few chain shops including a small Waitrose.

One the attractions to Hythe is the pier which has a small old train that will take you from the ticket office to the end of the pier where you can catch a ferry across to Southampton. See Wikipedia - Hythe Pier, Railway and Ferry for further information.

Limited parking is available on the tiny streets surrounding the town centre and is free for 30 minutes during weekdays/Saturdays though there is a larger car park behind the Waitrose as well.
