Keswick
Located on Derwent Water, Keswick is busy and quite tourist-y. It features some wonderful walks around the lake as well as some pretty parks in the town itself. The town can get extremely busy with tourists wandering around it's cobbled streets but it still has a bit of charm about it.
Parking can be a problem but there are several large pay and display car parks (“Lakeside” is by far the biggest, located in Hope Park, but is quite a walk into town including a trip through a pedestrian “underpass”) the as well as additional parking in numerous National Park car parks around the lake itself. Hope Park has a few attractions including Crazy Golf, Pitch and Putt, Theatre By The Lake and a café.
Boat trips on the lake are also available.
The market is held in the main square every Thursday and Saturday.
