Dundee
Dundee is a small city on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is the forth largest city in Scotland and lies on the northern bank of the River Tay a short distance north of Edinburgh.
Entering the city from the south you cross the “Tay Road Bridge” which is more like a causeway stretching 2.5 kilometres across the river.
The city centre is quite compact and is largely pedestrianised meaning it is easy to get around. There are a couple of larger shopping centres but there are a good number of local bakeries, butchers and delis as well.
Attractions
There are a few things to do and see in Dundee:
- V&A Dundee - Housed in a stunning building on the River Tay near the bridge. Free to visit.
- Discovery Point and RRS Discovery - Located beside the V&A, this is a small museum and the Royal Research Ship Discovery which you can board and explore. Entrance fee applies (tickets valid for one year).
- St Paul's Episcopal Cathedral (High Street)
