Review of 'A Painted House'

A Painted House by John Grishom

This story follows a young boy as his family prepares to harvest the cotton in middle-America. The family have to hire a number of Mexican workers as well as some “poor white trash” to help them in their efforts which prove to be exhaustive even reading about. During the harvest many things happen, his life is changed as is his families…forever. This is a “coming of age novel” (how many times have we heard that) in sort of a ligher form of Steinback. A very good and readable novel.

Rating: “It is OK but I have some issues”
