Computer Programmer/Analyst

This contract was obtained as part of the “Co-Op” program of the University of Manitoba Bachelor of Computer Science degree where students alternate between four month periods of studying for their degree and work terms where they can practically apply their knowledge and gain valuable experience.

Iris systems was involved with the development of a system to remotely monitor household utility meters (such as gas or hydro) through a network of remote sensors. Iris Systems has since become insolvent.

Steve assisted in networking PCs and UNIX machines, including system and application support using C and UNIX scripts. Additional work included review and updating of various system documentation and miscellaneous system administration and support.
