Lac Rose, Senegal

Lac Rose is a short distance out of Dakar, Senegal and is a small, in-land salt water lake whose concentrations of minerals make the water turn pink. The salt accumulates at the bottom of the lake in crystals which are harvested by people who wade in the shallow waters to fill their small boats.

The easiest way to visit is either by tour or to take a taxi from Dakar.
