Review of 'Bodean's BBQ Smoke House'
An interesting American BBQ restaurant in the middle of London. Definitely not for those seeking “fine dining”, Bodean's has a diner-style upstairs serving dishes from their “deli” menu with the basement (that we did not visit) more of a “proper” restaurant. Not at all fancy, but the food was very good indeed: We had the baby-back ribs which come with fries and coleslaw, all piled onto a tray…VERY American diner-style. The ribs were wonderfully tasty, tender and correctly seasoned (not so much that they lost their flavour). The cole-slaw was a disappointment and the fries were nothing special (though nicely seasoned with a BBQ-flavoured salt). We had a bit of pecan pie for dessert which was absolutely fantastic – A light crust and a not-too-sweet filing.
I will say that it was quite expensive for what you are getting but it appears that ribs in this country are expensive, no matter what, however, if you are looking for a quick fix of American-style ribs, here is the place for you. They also offer take-away as well as cook-it-yourself options.
