Review of 'Sarastro Restaurant'

Located on Drury Lane behind the Theatre Royal, Sarastro’s is a great stop for dinner before or after a show. The interior is bizarrely decorated with props from various operas and they even offer some evenings (Sundays and Mondays) where opera performers from the nearby Royal Opera House or the English National Opera perform in the somewhat small restaurant. There are several “boxes” in the restaurant with narrow seating but great views of the interior. The food is simple, clean and well prepared with a mixture of various mediterranean cuisines – Very moderately priced. Service is a bit awkward with (it seems) few waiters that actually speak any english. A very good pre/post theatre special menu is available with very good prices. Note: Can get busy in the evenings but restaurant is open all day after 12:30 pm.
