Review of 'What Dreams May Come'

what_dreams_may_come.jpg This is a sentimental journey of a man coming to cope with his death. Yes, his death. His wife ends up following him and much of the story is his travelling to purgatory to save her. The vibrant colours of this movie overwhelm the screen and leave a washed-out appearance to the image. The effects are quite impressive but not entirely convincing (the picture that immediately springs to mind is Robin Williams walking under the water of the lake…very much like an old 50s movie). Nevertheless, this movie strikes some cord with me and moves me every time I watch it and I think that has to do with the excellent cast and touching story.
