Review of 'Down Under'

Down Under by Bill Bryson

This is the first book I have read by Bryson and I am quite impressed. Bryson takes on a rather disjointed journey across the Australian continent with strange modes of transport and even stranger experiences. His insight into the Austrailian culture and history is quite interesting and engaging. Having been to Australia it is also interesting to see his take on some of the things I have already formed an opinion of. His attentions focus very much on the people of Australia (very aptly, I feel). A good read though with no real plot or story other than the few chapters this book is composed of.
