Review of 'The Gap Into Conflict: The Real Story'

The Gap Into Conflict: The Real Story by Stephen Donaldson
1st book in the 'Gap' series

The first in the Gap series of books sees Angus Thermopyle meeting up with Morn Hyland a young policewoman who has a decidedly self destructive streak (admitedly not of her own volition). The first two chapters tell the story as seen by different perspectives of what happened at a space station bar (both of which are no where near the truth). The “Real Story” is far more complicated and is a story of murder, abuse, running away from the “law” and self-interest. This is a very good read with the end somewhat (but perhaps not wholly) unexpected. The author's afterword tells of the origin of the story in his imagination and promises for the subsequent books in the story.

Rating: “Really good but I have some issues”
