Review of 'Versus the Baron'

Versus the Baron by John Creasy

This is one in a series of (short) novels about “the baron” – a notorious cracksman whose alter-ego, John Mannering, takes great pains to hide. This time the baron has inadvertantly become involved in a murderous “hit and run” over some stolen gems. During his investigation into who stole the gems (and performed the murder) as well as, more importantly, why he is kidnapped and blackmailed in the process risking the exposure of his secret identity. An interesting, if extremely light and fast-paced novel.

Rating: “A bit better than average”
