A small restaurant offering a fantastically tasty menu with their special “Couscous Royale” containing a number of grilled meats that manage to stay moist without loosing their structure. It might look (slightly) like a typical take-away from the front (particularly with the kebabs in the window) do not let this fool you. Be sure NOT to miss the different varieties of baklava (filo pastry in honey with nuts) for desert.

A local deli frequented by the locals offering a variety of small dishes and deserts. Quite busy though go upstairs if the main floor is full. Staff can be a bit off-hand and drinks seem to be a bit overpriced. Cash only (no credit cards).

A wonderful Turkish restaurant in the centre of the city serving fresh and delicately seasoned dishes. The meats from the grill are absolutely suculent and the vegetables seemingly picked only moments ago from the garden. The atmosphere can get a bit noisy and reservations are required. It is also VERY crowded with tables and chairs constantly jostling one another. The best deal is the set meal which includes an assortment of appetisers, mixed grill main course, “pastries…

I was not terribly impressed with Jinling which is located just around the corner from the market square. The interior is quite cramped and drab with, in my opinion, an overpriced menu. The food itself was acceptable but nothing to write home about with the typical chinese dishes including Hot & Sour Soup and noodle dishes.

One of the best places for Indian food in Cambridge is located just a bit out of the city centre in Cherry Hinton. Things can get very crowded here so book ahead and be prepared for smoke. Take-away is available.

A fantastic Indian restaurant not exactly located in “restaurant central” in Cambridge being, as it is, quite close to Station Road with dubious culinary experiences surrounding it (particulary the Domino's Pizza opposite). Located on the busy Mill Road the White Swan is popular with locals but proved to have a wowfully lacking menu. The first sign should have been the lack of any meal specials and the laminated menus completed the picture. The fish and chips were disappointing (both having been obviously been cooked from frozen). The sandwiches were much better served on granary bread with also what looked like promising panini.
Review of 'The White Hart'

The White Hart is a refreshing pub just outside of Fulbourn. It offers a very good selection of traditional English pub food (Steak and Kidney Pudding, Fish Pie, etc) with a reasonably priced lunch menu echoing the evening menu (with simply smaller portions). Don't expect too many risks to be taken with the food but it is quite good if a bit, perhaps, too basic. The pub itself is quite comfortable with fairly formal surroundings. Service is fairly prompt with or…

Surprise -- A pub that actually serves decent Asian -- in this case Thai -- food. Not much to look at (though, thankfully, completely non-smoking) the place was packed on the day we visited for lunch. The menu is actually quite simple with a few main types of dishes and your choice of what type of meat (pork, beef, prawns, chicken and seafood) though they do also offer various traditional soups. A delightful restaurant in a bit of an unusual location. Restaurant 22 has to be one of the most difficult restaurants to find in Cambridge but once you do you will never forget what you have experienced.

Nestled amongst sets of row houses you could be forgiven to miss the restaurant differentiated by it's neighbors only by a small sign and menu on a placard out front. Entering the front room of the house (through the small cloak room) the main floor is a small…

Prices are reasonable though there is only ever one or two daily specials (the normal menu is fine). Don't expect fine dining but very good pub cuisine particularly since they get their meat from the butcher located just down the street on Mill Road. With the number of students in Cambridge there are a good number of cheaper eating options but given that many of the students have money they also have their fair share of quality dining as well. The centre of the city is where you should concentrate your eating experience instead of the still rather dated dining establishments in the suburbs. A particularly good place for dining is Hill Road where you will find contemporary rubbing shoulders with old-school Indian restaurants.
