It has taken me several months to put this journal together based on my notes and information I kept from the trip. It is now February when I am completing it. There has been a lot of material to put in place and I hope you have enjoyed reading it.

One of the reasons to visit Australia was to see whether or not we might be happy living there. I think that Mel and I both agree that this is still a very real possibility and now that Mel has seen it, the decision is much easier. Getting a Visa, on the other hand, might be more difficult.

It was, frankly, an amazing trip. We were just so lucky to have Sian in Malaysia to show us around and give us an experience we will never forget in her beautiful (and tasty) country. It was an incredible experience that I still can hardly believe. Australia was, as always, very welcoming and full of a lot of fun things to do. Mostly I am happy that Mel had a great time and was able to see some really interesting animals which I have to think were the highlight of her trip (orangutans, koalas, wallabys, and kangaroos…). It was just great spending a lot of time together and enjoying the experience.

Thinking back, we never put any music on in the car for the unknown number of hours we spent in it driving around south-eastern Australia. We did not need to. We were just relaxed, happy, and enjoying the drive…
