Review of 'CB2 Internet Bistro'
The first thing that we thought when we entered the restaurant was: Hum, Ok. The first thing we thought when we saw the menu: Woah, expensive! Both initial reactions turned out to be spot on: Expensive for what you get. To be fair the hamburgers we enjoyed with “spicy chips” were very good but a bit pricey for a café.
There is a two-level seating area on the inside and a (new) patio outside near to East Road should you wish to enjoy the rain and/or pollution from the passing vehicles. We chose to eat inside having been turned away the previous week as they had a group in and could not serve us food (but we could have a seat and wait for an hour until they could be bothered to serve us) – we gave it a miss then. Service, when we finally visited, was not too bad with attentive but not lingering staff.
I honestly wanted to like this place. I have heard so much about it and when I finally was able to visit I was quite disappointed. I will be back to try other items on the menu but it will most likely be for dinner and not lunch. I can only hope that the other items on the non-bistro part of the menu are just as good as the burgers.
