Review of 'Café Brazil'

I found Café Brazil quite disappointing considering it's neighbours – Café Adriatic and Al Casbah – all that I found was an average restaurant serving a basic set of sandwiches with nothing particularly “Brazil” about the whole experience except for the name in front of one of the sandwiches – “Brazil Chicken” (a shredded chicken in a mayonnaise-type sauce). Even the desserts were fairly average fare, chocolate cake, (English) flap jacks and a few other no-surprise dishes. I tried to find something a bit Brazil like the place so ordered a Papaya smoothie (true, not terribly Brazil but considering the other dishes – trust me, this was the closest I could get) and was disappointed to get what looked like a milkshake with bits inside that I have to assume were Papaya but I could not taste it…It has to be said that the price is right (unless you want to eat in then most sandwiches cost another £1!).

Service was a bit hit or miss but it is a clean, airy interior and, to be fair, the food did not taste that bad but with the other options nearby I know where I will be visiting next time…
