Review of 'Congee King'

This small restaurant in the heart of old Wan Chai has a clean white interior with booths around the outside of the room.

Has to be the best congee (rice soup) I have ever had in my life. Ok, they may not have tea available, but you come here for the congee. Pick any flavour from the menu and you will not be disappointed. The flavour is rich and deep - Very, very moorish.

Worth seeking out. You come here for the flavour, not the service nor the decor. Oddly the hours are a bit odd, opening at 11:00 am. This is particularly unusual when you consider congee is normally a breakfast dish. But, for this, I am willing to eat it for lunch too.

Rating: “Nearly perfect, but not quite”
