Review of 'Coastliners'

Coastliners by Joanne Harris

coastliners.jpg Harris has once again come up with a truly involving story of a woman returning to her home on the small island of Le Devin off the coast of France. Her small community are facing big problems with the tides and a local businessmen who seems to want the island for his own purposes. A newcomer to the island, Flynn, is willing to help the islanders but who is he and what is his true purpose? This is a novel with a lot of questions that are only answered in the last few chapters (in rather exhaustive detail). The lives of the islanders is covered in touching detail which draws the reader in. Quite a fascinating tale and, as with her other books, very well written.

Rating: “Really good but I have some issues”
